Oticon introduces Vigo Connect Family

Sensational Sound and Wireless Freedom in Mid-Price Hearing Devices

Mississauga October 2009 – For most people, connectivity is a part of modern life – in business, in social situations and with family. Wireless connection to a variety of modern communication and entertainment devices has transformed the way people conduct life’s everyday activities. For people with hearing loss however, easy access to the attractive world of modern “connectivity” has been out of reach.

Now Vigo Connect, a new family of high performing hearing devices in the mid-price market opens an exciting world of wireless freedom to people with mild to severe-to-profound hearing loss. New Vigo Pro Connect and Vigo Connect take the benefits of the popular Vigo family to the next level with intuitive and easy-to-use wireless connectivity for a closer-to-natural listening experience.

Oticon’s goal is to enable more people with hearing loss to live a modern life with fewer restrictions. Vigo Connect builds on the strengths of the well-known Vigo family -- including great sound quality, high-end performance, a wide range of discreet styles and value for money. In addition, it provides direct, wireless access to the communication and entertainment devices that are essential ‘links’ to modern everyday life.

Vigo Connect is based on Oticon’s ultra-fast RISE platform that delivers more bandwidth (8 kHz) and significantly higher levels of processing power. In combination with an advanced feature set, including VC Learning and TriState Noise Management, Vigo Connect offers a balanced, nuanced sound picture and a new level of Spatial Awareness.

Wireless connectivity adds an extra dimension to the performance of the Vigo family. Using the small, sleek Streamer accessory, Vigo Pro Connect and Vigo Connect stream sound wirelessly through Oticon’s state-of-the-art ConnectLine system to landline and mobile phones, televisions, stereos, PCs and MP3 players. The discrete, modern hearing solutions allow users to simply touch a button to seamlessly transition from one communication device to another. Users enjoy high quality audio streaming binaurally through their hearing devices – listening at their own preferred volume and without a latency delay.
