How to

Replace the damper

The damper is placed in the hook on behind-the-ear (BTE) hearing aids

It mainly works as an acoustic filter, shaping the frequency response, but also has a function of stopping moisture and earwax from getting into the hearing aid. If there is no sound in the hearing aid or the sound output is reduced, this may have been caused by a clogged damper and it should be replaced.

Replace the damper as shown:

Note: the damper is not used with BTE Power hearing aids.

You can buy dampers from your hearing care professional.
