Soft Speech can be hard to hear and make sense of for people with a hearing impairment. Research shows that some people can benefit from extra amplification of soft sounds.
Soft Speech Booster is enabled by making the VAC rationale more flexible, which has been done with VAC+. This has allowed us to personalize the amount of soft speech boost prescribed.
The default Soft Speech Boost prescribed is 3 dB, which can be further personalized in Genie. The average benefit is 7% improved speech understanding, which can extend up to 20% if it is personalized.
