Why can't I stream sound from my Android device to my hearing aids?

Streaming audio depends on your hearing aids and your Android device.

Our newest hearing aids can stream audio directly and make hands-free calls via Bluetooth® LE Audio with Android devices that also support this technology. If your hearing aids support LE Audio, but your device does not, then you will need the Easy LE Adapter accessory to stream audio from your device.

Many of our other hearing aids that support Bluetooth technology are able to stream audio directly on Android devices with Android Streaming for Hearing Aids (ASHA) technology. If your hearing aids support Bluetooth but your Android device does not support ASHA, then you can use the optional ConnectClip accessory to enable direct streaming and hands-free communication on your hearing aids.

Find out if your Android device supports direct streaming with LE Audio or ASHA or requires the use of an Easy LE Adapter or ConnectClip.

Troubleshooting

Connectivity issues between hearing aids and smart devices can sometimes occur. These problems can be frustrating and may interfere with streaming calls, music, or other audio smoothly. Here are some common solutions that will help you solve issues while streaming with your hearing aids and Android device:

Keep devices close to each other: The closer your phone is to your hearing aids, the stronger the Bluetooth signal will be. If you experience issues while your phone is in your pocket, try turning your phone around so that the charging port is facing upwards.

Restart Bluetooth: Either on its own or during an audio/video call. This may help fix a faulty connection or sound interference.

Re-start your audio/video call or app: If you experience echo or any sound distortion, then restarting your audio/ video call or the app you are using may help fix this issue.

Turn off Bluetooth on devices not currently in use: Disconnecting any unnecessary devices that you do not currently wish to stream audio from may help alleviate Bluetooth congestion.

Turn flight mode on and off: Toggling Flight Mode may also help refresh Bluetooth and help fix a faulty connection.

Restart your device: Restarting can often resolve minor glitches that may be interfering with the connection and clear out unused data that is accumulated on the phone over time.

Pair your hearing aids again: Remove your hearing aid pairing from your list of Bluetooth Devices in Bluetooth settings and pair your hearing aids again.
